um...a little vague, but ok.....
These are just my opinions....
Pros - not terrible on gas. fun to drive. reliable. easy to maintain. easy to drive. easy to park. 4wd is great. IFS is more comfortable than solid front axle.
Cons - 2wd is terrible. it's short, so it can be a handful if you lose control. it's not fantastic on gas. the soft top models like to rust in the rear wheel wells and under the rear bumper cover. IFS is more expensive and harder to modify than a solid front axle.
Mine is a 1991. 1.6, 5 speed manual, 4wd. Soft top conv. I love it. It's amazing.

I really do not see a point at getting a 2WD unless you live in MIAMI, where it is pooltable flat. AUTO STINKS with these cars, they lack the power to move already and now coupled with a slush box it gets scary.
I just bought a 1998 5-speed 4wd, get a 5SPEED 4WD, otherwise I do not see a point to this vehicle. If you must get an auto, make sure it is 4WD.

I think it's a matter of opinion about the autos. I have a '96, 1.6 16v, 4 speed auto on 30" tires. I have no problem passing on the freeway or shootin through the yellow lights.
