Do a search on http://www.acksfaq.com/ (http://www.acksfaq.com/). Some expensive performance carbs have been used, and some cheap junk yard replacements (basically using a 1.8Lish carb).

People have reported great success using motorcycle carbs. Myron's setup is a popular choice: http://www.zuksoffroad.net/samurai_engine.htm (http://www.zuksoffroad.net/samurai_engine.htm).

Just my 2 cents.
My rig has gone from stock carb to weber and now the Myside 2 from ZOR Zuks Off Road.
Running a HD 40 mm carb.

It has truly proven my engines ability and horsepower.

You will not be disappointed, especially if your rig is headed towards offroad adventures.
