Title: Torque Converter lockup issues

Specs: 95 auto, 16v, 3 speed, 4.30 to 5.13 conversion, 32"BFG AT's, turbocharged.
 I really would like to get an "overdrive " box of some type, but in lieu of that actually happening, I'd just like to get my TC to stay locked correctly. I believe the auto 3 speed trans torque converter lockup is controlled by 3 parameters: trans fluid pressure, throttle position sensor, and vss, If there's more someone please correct me. My issue is that at speeds above say 60mph, the tc WILL NOT stay locked. I am running a trans cooler, have replaced both the tcc solinoid and pressure switch previously, and the lockup occurs  sometimes as low as 25/30 mph according to my speedo. Just the slightest amount of throttle pressure and it unlocks at speeds above 45 mph.
 
That 2/400 rmp difference is a valuable thing to me.

When building my turbo setup, I messed around with the idle speed screw to raise the idle up, which eventually I tried to return to it's stock position. Don't know if I got it close, or if this even has anything to do with it. I also added the trans cooler, which of course includes longer lines, and the cooler itself. Could this be causing a fluid pressure change? And is it possible that there are more than one pressure switches with varying pressures, and I'm running the wrong one? Could my throttle position sensor be adjusted, or off?
The turbo has no effect at most highway speeds, it's only boosting when I apply enough throttle, so trans vacume pressure should be normal at cruise speeds. According to the boost guage, I'm running about 10" of vacume at 65mph. 
My guess is this non lockup has something to do with fluid pressure, but I don't quite know how to proceed. Help! Sorry for such a long post.

I Think that Engine temp has to be high enough for it to lock up also.

Give it a little while.  Most of us are running manual transmissions.  Someone will probably log on tonight and have an idea.  :)

A 95 16V doesn't have a 3 speed trans, which is a GM TH180, it is a 4 speed Toyota
trans, and the TPS should have some sayso to the lockup. The fact that it does lockup
means all the parts are working, it's just getting kicked off by a throttle input, don't know
if it's a switch on the throttle or in the ECU, I doubt the idle screw has any affect tho

I must have some kind of bastard then, mine is definitly a 3 speed with torque converter lockup. Believe me, I'd LOVE to have the 4 speed. Everything does seem to be working parts wise, but the tcc kicks in at very low speeds, as low as 25 mph, then will get kicked off just as easily. I'm going to take a look at the tps today and my fsm, and see if there's a way to adjust it. Thanks guys.

I performed all the tests of the TPS according to the FSM, it's functioning normally. Got to be something else. Awhile back I got some input from Ian L about wiring a switch to control tcc lockup, I think I'm going to try that . It allows for manual lockup/ normal control.

Never seen a swb with the 4speed. I was under the impression that it wouldn't since it is so much longer.

And the manufacurer is Aisin Warner.
