Title: best lift for some bigger meat
Post by: Greddy0 on August 13, 2004, 06:06:46 AM
I just inherited a 95 4door sidekick  ;D  and like to build a mild trail rig out of it.  Previous owner overheated so I'm gona need a new radiator.  ? about the lifts out there for the sidekicks... for a 2" lift what is the best/cheapest way?  searching the archieves, I assume rear would be spacers.  Front has 2 options, spacers or flip the mount, correct?  What is the easiest/cheapest way.  Looking to run some 235/75/15 AT.  Any sites for spacers?  Thanks all

For a 235 you most likely do not need any lift.  I am running 235 MT retreads with no lift and no problems.

OK. OK.   :o  Let say lowest cost to lift my sidekick  ::)  Also don't want to run too large a tire to reduce an already under powered rig. :-X

Gearing can correct the effects of oversized tires.

If you want inexpensive and not have to fab much go with 235/75-15's, RRO Coil Spacers and RRO 2"body lift. That's what I'm running and it works fine. Here's what you achieve:

2" body lift = 2" obviously :)
1 1/8" coil spacers = 1 1/2" strange but true, at least on mine
235/75-15's = about an 1" of lift over the factory size tires, but this varies depending on brand

I run 2" body spacers, and 2 inch coil specers w/ the flipped strut mount.

Running 30" mud Terrain tires.

With a 4 Door... being heavier in the butt.. when I just ran 235's every time I came out of a parking lot onto the street, or went through a dip in the road, my rear tires would rub the fenderwells and I started losing tread.

:P

With just a 2" suspension lift (the Calmini one) I STILL bumped the tires against the fenderwells. It took a body lift to stop it from happening.
