Ok i scored some awesome black leather seats from a Jetta 1.8t. anyone ever put another cars seats in their kicks? How did you go about it? I remember when i had a Samurai, i unbolted the seat from the rail and bolted the new seats to the old rail/frame....done.
But that was a Samurai, can i do that in a sidekick??? or is the seat actually welded to the rail/frame in the trackick? Would it be easier to try and modify the jetta's seat rails?

i think the trackers seat rails are uneven
or else i wouldve changed seats long ago

I have a set of 95 Civic seats in mine. My Tracker rails were rusty, so I modified the Civic rails to work. I removed the mounting brackets from the rails, then made my own mounting rails from 1.25" 3/16" flatbar. bent at 80 degree angle at one end for the front mounts. Then I bolted them to the civic rails. The door side is lower than the inner console side, so I used some 3" box tube sliced into 1" strips to fill in the gap. It was a lot of measuring & test fitting, then hours on a drill press setting up jigs to make sure the holes were perfect.

Im still a firm believer that someone could make money by fabbing plates and selling them

Agreed.

I was thinking of keeping the kick rails and finding a way to mod the actual seat to fit on it. Rather than fab all new mounts. I'll get a better idea of what i can do when i get the sets i guess.
