Title: 02 rear axle Vs. 96 rear axle
Post by: Bfunk on July 18, 2009, 10:31:28 PM
I am wondering what the difference between 2 door rear axles are.  As in the 96 2 door 4x4 compared to a 2002 2 door 4x4.  Are they the same.  Could I put a 96 axle in a 2002 ???  Just kicking around some ideas.  Thanks ;)

The '96 and '02 have entirely different rear suspension designs, for one thing, so I suspect there'd be a decent amount of cutting and welding to do.

I'm not worried about that.  That's the easy part ;)  I'm just wondering if the widths are the same, and if there are any abs or speedo problems that would occur.  Thanks

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the 02 is quite a bit wider.
