Does anyone have any idea how big of a travel trailer a Sport can tow? I'm looking at a 14-16' travel trailer to use for work and I'm not sure if it would do it for 500 miles or not...

Whilst I'm don't know the spec for the Sidekick Sport - I know it's the 1.8L J18 engine - I would guess it's not more than my 2.0L J20 engined GV, which is rated at 1500lbs, with 150lb tongue weight.
I'm thinking that your 14~16' trailer might weigh somewhat more than that.

Tow ratings usually have more to due with the weight of the vehicle, the wheelbase, and braking abilities then horsepower.

Then the Sport models should have a higher tow rating due to braking. They have the largest brakes outside of the XL-7 and current models...

Yea you will have no problems i dont think... other than warping your breaks :S My dads tracker can pull obsene amount of weight over long distances, and the only problems were warped breaks which is not really a big deal, and it wont happen unless u are hard on the breaks.
