Title: 10 bolt R&P question??
Post by: 95XL7 on August 04, 2004, 11:09:38 AM
Are the pre 94 10 bolt front and rear ring & pinions the same? I mean if you order them do they have the same part# ?? and can you use the front in the rear carrier?

None of the trackick front and rear dropouts won't interchange. You can't use the front in the rear, and vice versa. At least in a kick. In a sammy, if the front was a 26 spline, you could swap both ends.

No you didn't understand. I am just talking the ring & pinion sets themselves, not the whole member. ;)

They are different. The rear ring gear size is 7.5" inch and the front is 7". Not sure on the actual numbers but I know they are different. Anyone got real numbers? Hagen would know. :)

I've got a set of rear ring and pinion gears if you need them.  They are the 5.125s.

thanks for the offer but i'm looking for 5.38's or 5.62's. Gonna end up getting some from a 89 1.3ltr i guess.
the 5.38's would be nice but i only seen them for Sami's.

What gears are you running now?

I'm running 5:13's now,but i want to increase a little to compensate for the taller tires and a little more acceleration off the line. But i don't want to go to high and ruin my highway speed either.

??? You got a V-6 with low 5 speed
gears, and you want more acceleration,
I think you should leave the Kick as is,
I only went to 5.83s for the off road
performance, I can pull 4.62s with 33
Swampers no problem with the Turbo,
You might want to re think this

XL7's with auto's had 513 gears stock, their tire height is 27.9"  I'm running 29" tires so technically i have a higher gear ratio than a stock XL7. Off course i do have a little less weight. ;)
