I have a 1990 suzuki sidekick 2 door with 3" Calmini sus lift. What would be the best tire size for all around 4x4ing?
Thanks

Depends. Are you willing to cut the fenders? Will this be your daily driver?

30-31, is this auto or stick? IF you go too big then you'll have gearing issues...if auto then you can swap out standard gears for not too much money. These rigs are very capable even in stock form so you don't need huge tires.
Put some 30/31 on it and lock the rear and you'll see an amazing difference. If you lock the front then it'll be a tank. Remeber to strap the front pot because this is a bad weak link on these vehicles. If you can find some spare housing get them, you'll need them.

If you go larger then 30 then your spare tire mount will not fit any longer. Also anything past a 30 and you are asking alot out of your engine. I have a 94 with the 8v and 31's hurt the throttle so much for me I ended up going down to a 30. This was after trying upgrading the exhaust and air intake as well as some better ignition parts. Also my tracker just now has 123000 on it and my compression looks good. It was just to much power loss for me.

with no body lift go 31x9.5 tsl, less rotational mass, more power while still getting the height.

I've got 32's and they fit just fine with some plastic trimming. Lower gears are a must though for bigger tires. I've got 5.63's and they work well.

how bout a 385-80-20 or a 235-75-15

Thanks. I think I may go for the 29s. I'm going to put the Lock rights in the rear later. I still want a bit of power left. By the time I wear out these tires I will have gone to the next stage and I will be ready for a bit bigger tire I think.
The zuks are amazing tanks as it is, the rest is skill.
Thanks for all the input.

I find that its hard to get an agresive tire. They get more agresive at 235 and higher.

just go with a 30x9.5, don't go smaller, it just won't be enough to really wheel...

I just orderd in 5 30/9.5/15 When I wear those out I will get a 3" body lift to ad to the 3" sus and 32's and gears.
Thanks
