I'm looking into getting a samurai as its probably the most fuel efficient 4x4 out there. I'm just wondering with all the different engine swaps that are common with samurais, what kind of fuel economy are people getting with their different setups(engine, gearing, tires.) My friend has a 4runner with a modded 22r and once he put bigger tires on the thing started drinking gas like crazy because its still underpowered and he has to rev it fairly high. Is this a common problem for samurais as well?

In my SJ-410 I can run for 24 hours straight on the trails on one tank of gas. Not sure how that translates out to mileage though. :D
