Title: Clutch Issues
Post by: zuki87jx on October 14, 2009, 07:46:25 PM
Ok. I just replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and rear seal for kicks on my 87 sammi right before the clutch broke the pedal was fine but after doing all of that my pedal is acting funny. It has a "hard spot" in it. When i release it from the floor its really loose and then about halfway up I get a lot of resistance and the just past that it feels normal for maybe an inch and then it lurches forward. Its kind of weird and i have no idea why this would happen im not too familiar with mechanical clutches.

I attempted to adjust it but im not sure i did it right.  ???

Your clutch arm may be loose on the pivot shaft (worn or out of the socket) or the throwout bearing could have come off of the two arms that it rests on. But check adjustment first... Hopefully, somebody has more ideas...
