Title: looking for 16" rims
Post by: v-stone on October 19, 2009, 02:28:08 PM
I'm tring to find a set of 16" rims for my Kick and just not having any luck. All I have found are $80 for a steel rim, I need to find some for much less. Does anyone know of stock vehicles that I can take these from?

grand vitaras, xl7's exc...... and some 1999+ trackers and vitaras with the v6's, they had bigger brakes and needed 16 inch rims

Are the XL7s a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern? I was told they are a little bigger

Try looking for some rims for older Dodge pickups or a Jeep CJ series.  They share the same bolt pattern at 5 on 5.5 and you should be able to pick up a 16" wheel.

Why are you jumping up to 16 from the 15?

I bought mine from summitracing. I was going to buy the XL-7/vitara 16" from hawk, they were going to sell them for like 50/each, but since I live in ohio shipping was going to be crazy. Summit had shipping based on total dollars spent, not weight, so I paid like $12 for ship/handling.

Like Drone said some older dodge vans used 16", but I had little luck with them, and the backspacing on it I think is more then I wanted.

BTW- I myself went with 16s because of tire choices...235/85r16,255/85r16, 16r9....I didnt want a wide tire or the popular 32/9.5....

Tire Choice. I like the tall and skinny tire which is getting harder to find and more exspensive for the 15" rim, but abundant with a 16".

I don't know how common they are, but the '95-98 Sport models used 16" rims.

I've been calling around to junk yards and used wheel shop to no avail. I went down to the self serve junk yard and there was a 2000 GV that still had a set of steel rims that will work. Eureka!

Thanks
