Possibly the cable has came out of the back of the gauge cluster or you have broken speedo cable.

If the odometer works and the speedometer does not then the speedo is broken.  You need to buy a new speedo gauge and switch to it.  For some reason in the later models the pin that the speedo uses likes to break.

take out the guage cluster and go for a spin....look to see if the cable is turning. If it's still turning then you only need a cluster.

Sorry, I had that backwards.  My bad for having a few drinks first.  :D

Your speedometer cable is fine, it's the speedometer itself that is broken.  You need to pick up a new speedometer or just a new cluster.

Have another drink.  You had it right.
I try not to think when I drink, or after.
