Possibly the cable has came out of the back of the gauge cluster or you have broken speedo cable.

Also note that the cables do need to be lubed if you hear squeeky squeeky

Does your odometer work?
-
wow now that you say squeaky squeaky i did hear that when i bought it and now i dont have a speedo and yes the odom does work. i will be checking if it came unpluged some how this evening and ill be back

If the odometer works and the speedometer does not then the speedo is broken. You need to buy a new speedo gauge and switch to it. For some reason in the later models the pin that the speedo uses likes to break.

drats now i need a new speedo too along w a cable?
-
take out the guage cluster and go for a spin....look to see if the cable is turning. If it's still turning then you only need a cluster.

Sorry, I had that backwards. My bad for having a few drinks first. :D
Your speedometer cable is fine, it's the speedometer itself that is broken. You need to pick up a new speedometer or just a new cluster.

Have another drink. You had it right.
I try not to think when I drink, or after.
