I believe the cluster for the 1990 and newer had the female plugs and a speed censor wire for the FI. That one looks similar to my '90 cluster so I would assume it's from a mid '90s Sammy.

Hope this helps Here's a pic of the '90 dash.

my 88.5 had the same set-up other than mine was in km/h and my 92 didn't have the tach. Are you looking for one with no tach? they both need a different harness. I probably have one with no tach laying around.

Freak, thanks for the input and the picture. I'd love to see the back side of your instrument cluster (please don't read into that comment...HA!). I know you don't want to pull out the cluster...but...if you get crazy one day and want to do that and take pictures, that'd be awesome. Your 90 cluster doesn't have a tach though, right?

Zukimoo, so, you're telling me that your 88.5 cluster had male connectors too?! I'd like to see a picture of that. Did your 88.5 have a wire harness with male or female connectors for the instrument cluster? Your comments have really got me interested! And, no, I'm looking for a 88.5 instrument cluster with a tachometer...with female connector ports to plug into the two male connectors from my wire harness!

Crap, I just had it out a few weeks ago when I installed the '90 dash in my '88. I wish I had taken a pic of then as I tend to document parts. I'm up to my ears in a complete shop rebuild so I wont get a chance for a couple of weeks to get it out again. When I do I'll post the pic and it may still be useful to ya.

No... my cluster doesn't have the Tach!

 Cheers

thanks, Freak. Whenever you get around to picturing the backside of the cluster, I'll be watching. Thanks again.

Hmm.  That is an odd looking cluster....at least on the backside.  The frontside looks like any other 88.5 or 89 tach cluster I have seen.....other than the light? in the lower right corner.
All samurai instrument clusters I have seen (86-95), tach or non-tach, have had female connection points on the backside.
I don't think it is a non-usa cluster (unless it is a mix and match of clusters), because it has MPH on the speedo.  Wouldn't any other country cluster have KMHs on it?  Isn't the US the only country in the world to use MPH?
