Title: DIY Samurai 2.0 Swap W/automatic
Post by: bokonon on October 26, 2009, 08:23:25 AM
With many projects we will find that the last ten percent can be the most frustrating and take most of the time and this 2.0 swap is no different. As it turns out I am a better fabricator than electrician. I have no idea how to wire up my 88 samurai the the 2.0 drive train I just installed. I am trying to wire it with new speedo, tack, temp, gauges and cant make sense of the schematic. Anybody out their have instructions or experience with this problem. I called trail tough and they want 600 bucks to label my harnesses for me which is unFNbelievable.

You are going to need the to transplant the speedo cluster too, there are
things in there that tells the computer about speeds and shifting, as well as the
speed readout if it's electronic pickup on the trans

wiring isn't that hard to read, you can get it, it's just a big mess when
you first get started, pull 1 wire at a time and hook it up, or lable it and
go on to the next one, just keep thinking it's saving you $600

Is the 2.0 out of a GV? Is it better than doing the VW 2.0? Thanks!
