Dear members,
I just have pruchased Suzuki sierra 1.3 L. its a stock vehicle. I got 1-1/2 longer shakles but don't know how they will result. Please guide how much lift I will get by installing them. will it effect ride quality? How much longer shocks I will need as existing shocks are a little shorter at the moment. presently I have tyre size 215X80X15
I am new to this site. I had owned few sami's but never tried to go for any modifications with suspension.

Shackle lifts result in 1/2 of the length of the shackle as the resultant lift.
Math it up:
variables defined:
Shackle Length = SL
Vehicle Lift = VL
Therefore:
SL/2=VL
Enjoy!

thanks a lot. if I go for 2" longer shakles, I will get 1" lift. How it will affect drive quality.

you have to keep in mind that when you add shakle length that it changes the angle of the steering. A little added length won't be noticed but it doens't take much to start messing with the way the vehicle drives.
be driving down the road and let go of the wheel and it'll go one side or the other. It's really scary to drive a vehicle with this messed up.

thank for the help guys. presently I m stretching my vehicle and trying to building like a LWB. Here in Pakistan, very few LWB's had been imported so I have decided to stretch my SWB. I will start a new thread and share what I have done and what are my present and future plans. your guidelines will definitly be very helpful.

Let us know how the build goes.
Is there a particular reason your stretching your Sierra?

frankly speaking, there is no particular reason. jsut trying to create some extra space required to carry my hunting gear and to fit 1 or 2 dogs.
also want to see how it will look like ???
