run a tank for normal fuel and watch the milleage and then try it with high test. My 88 didn't run good at all with reg...it ran great with high test. my 413 K doesn't run any different at all.

We have what you call clear gas you can get in a can from the pumps but you can't put it directly in a street legal vehicle yet until they pass another senate bill, but it does not have all of the alcohol that they put in the gasoline now a days, my rigs get about 7 mpg better with a fifty fifty mix of the alcohol junk and the clear gas and they even idle allot better.

My Vit is an 8V First gen. model although it was built in 2000 (Spanish). The handbook states 85 Octane RON or higher unless you have a restrictor in the fuel pipe, in which case you must use unleaded 91 octane RON or higher (mine!). Our normal (called premium!) petrol is 95 octane RON and there is no point in running anything higher in standard trim as its never going to pink, the CR is specced as 8.9:1. A number of people do run the timing a few degrees advanced with good results but it usually needs to be reset to stock for the annual inspection.
I know of a guy in Guyana who runs his GV around 10 degrees advanced because the only petrol they can get is 98 RON.
