I have overheated my G13a engine and i'm having a bit of trouble getting it back together. (the radiator got a hole and drained ALL the water and things got very hot).
I've planed the head which warped and replaced the head gasket. Put in a new timimg belt, tensioner and water pump.
I have found that the internal threads on the rockers (where the tappets screw in) are stripped. Is this a sign that the head has been weakened or is this common on older engines?
I am also having lots of trouble removing the camshaft sprocket bolt. I've tried hammering a breaker bar and still haven't got it off. What are my options?
Cheers
Matt

I can help with the camsaft sprocket/pully. If you don't have an impact gun, try using a torch to heat up just the bolt not the pully. Creating a temperature differential will break it loose.
Good luck, Eric

Thanks. I'll see if i can borrow either a torch or impact gun.

I DISAGREE WITH THE TORCH!!!!
REPLACE ALL PARTS THAT YOU HEAT WITH THE TORCH TO PREVENT PROBLEMS DOWN THE LINE.
WITH THE CAM REMOVED CHECK FOR WARPAGE ON THE TOP OF THE HEAD WITH A STRAIGHT EDGE. BEING CAREFUL NOT TO SCAR THE JOURNALS. ILL BET THIS WILL SHED SOME LIGHT ON YOUR ISSUES
