I am looking for some wider rims for the sammie being that is mostly just going threw the mud I would like a much wider stance for stability. What bolt pattarn does the sammie actually have. Do they interchange with anything like yota's etc? Also could someone recomend a tire for mud? My sammie is not street legal and gets trailer so tire agression is not a problem. I was thinking about sometype of a tractor tire but was not sure.

Get a set of mud terrains from www.treadwright.com (http://www.treadwright.com). They are retreads and are very reasonable. I had a set on my old Tracker and they worked well and lasted. The bolt pattern is the same as CJ type Jeeps and Ford rims.

For a trailored rig, I would say go for the Super Swamper Boggers or tractor tires depending on what you can afford. The standard super Swampers are always an excellent choice too.

thats what i was thinking was some tractor tires. Super swampers are kinda a bit pricy im only 18 lol. was thinking about these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-5100961/ (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-5100961/) but unsure of what rims I want a much wider stance.

I agree with firemedic....Boggers or Tractor tires.
As far as wheels go the bolt pattern is 5 on 5.5, the older CJ pattern like Keith said....Also some trailer use this pattern and you can often buy trailer wheels cheap. If you want "wider" just get less backspacing on the wheels or use spacers.
Another important thing to consider is size and what your vehicle can handle. If you got the engine and gears go bigger. IF you dont have the power to turn the big tire, especially for mud, you'll find yourself stuck a lot.
BTW- the one tire you linked is for and 8" wheel/rim. I"m sure you were just using it as an example.....so in your case you'll probably have the most luck in the 15 or 16" wheel size.

the rims are 5X5.5 and they are found on Samurai, LJ80, tracker, LAda Niva, old fords, Old Jeeps and I'm sure some other vehicles.
If you go for the 10" rims you really need to get the 2.5" of offset. If you get the ford rims they don't have as much offset and they will cause rubbing issues. I had 31" 12.5 boggers on 10" and they were insane.
Boggers are a high power tire and zukes don't qualify for this. As long as you know how to lift your foot when you stop you will be fine. They will dig real fast if you get stopped. I would buy boggers again in a flash.
I'm running plain BFG muds and they've served me well but I don't do marsh mud. I've tried the tractor tires and I always found they will go great one way. We tried putting the front ones one way and the back ones the other and it really didnt' help. when you got stuck going forward they hated going backwards.
It all depends on the budget too....you can take out the little lug on a bogger and make them really work.

so im a bit confused on the rims. I am looking for going as wide as posible without rubbing what type of rims off what should I be looking for. Id say rite now boggers are out of my price range.

dirtzero, based on what size tire you intend to run (the link that you provided) those tires are not going to fit on your rig. I don't want to burst your bubble but you would be wasting your money. Those tires in that size would not fit, unless of course you were going to put them on a Polaris Ranger UTV or similar type UTV. The tires you selected were 16 inches tall on an 8 inch tall rim. That isn't going to fit on a samurai, tracker, or any SUV for that matter. What you will need if your going to run a tractor type tire is one that will fit a 15x7, 15x8, or 15x10 inch rim (example: 15" tall by 8" wide) that has a offset of 2 1/2" meaning that the center section (where the lugs mount) is off-center to the inside (closer to outside of the body) which will make the rig have a wider stance (wider stance=less tippy and less rubbing). Hope that clarifys things a bit more for ya.

yes I know that the tires in the link I provided will not fit I was just using them as an example if anyone runs anything similar to them but thanks for the clearification.

No way? Tractor tires cheaper than Super swamper tires?
I did look at tractor tires, when i saw the price, i changed my mind and went over to super swampers. If You can get them (tractor tires) for less. GOOD.

we took some very aggressive 4wheeler tires that were 12" tall. We took some 12" car rims and cut them in half, welded in 2-3" in the center and then welded the 5X5.5 centers from some old samurai rims to make them fit on the tracker. We had to weld them offset big time to clear the brake parts. I'll try to find some pics to show you the buggy. I only had to take one apart to find a small leak....Look for remoulds and you'll find some decent prices and if you check alot of them then you'll find some with good aggressive threads.
