Not knocking anyones bullbars, because there are some great designs out there.
But I don't see many pics of Vitara/Trackers in the States with ARB Bulbars on.
Are they too dear? clearance not enought? or something else why people don't choose them? :-/

These are my two thoughts,
EW-GLY & EX-Pensive...

P.S. Super beefy though.

I think they look too big on such small rides. But thats just me. I have nothing against ARB, I did choose their lockers and snorkel ;D
-
I wanted one, I like the bull bar (roo bars) ;)
look, but too dear at $600 US. Ohh this one was
all aluminium too (that's Ausie for Aluminum)

I hope the bull bars for Sidekicks mount alot better then the ones for sammys. I had one on my samurai for about 30 seconds. Looking at in on my rig I relized it would never be strong enough for the kind of winching I do. I like the company and know some guys that work there, so I'm not just knocking them, in case anyone was wondering.

I'm too cheap to ever buy a bumper, but the one reason that I'd go with the Calmini front bumper over the bull bar is looks...
-
I wonder how strongly they mount. When I had my winch bumper made I had new mountings welded to the front of the chassis using 1/4" plate braced to prevent any flex. The stock bumper is only bolted through one side of the chassis rails.

Rhino: The ARB winch bumper for the sidekick has 2 components. The first one is sort of like a "chasis" for the main bullbar and is bolted onto the front frame rail and acts like an additional crossmember. The second component (main bullbar) is then secured and bolted on top of the 1st component.
Just wanted to share with you guys pics of some copy-cat front Calmini bumpers that are being fabricated here in the Philippines. Its almost like the real thing.
Front copy-cat Calmini bumper mounted on a 2-door Escudo (Escudo is the Japanese counterpart of Tracker)

Closer shot of the copy-cat bumper. Powdercoat finish Pardon the beer bottles. The Calmini sticker is original as well as the suspension lift kit.

I personally thing the ARB looks to big on any ridw I've seen them on.

explosivo: It takes them 2-3 weeks to manufacture. You can even specify your own design alterations.
-
I had a ARB winch bulbar fitted on the weekend, I got it colour matched so it blends in with the car a bit.
The ARB bulbar was the only good bulbar I found here in Australia unless you get a made up from scratch.
I see you guys bag Calmini a bit with there product delivery.
I hope I don't have trouble seeing I ordered all there Skid Plates a while back :-/

I have installed both bumpers, the Calmini and the ARB Bullbar. Both were on 95 4 doors. Both were winch bumpers. From what I've seen between the two, the ARB mounts far superior to the Calmini. The ARB mounts to a heavy mounting crossmember that uses only the two upperbolts from the stock bumper mounts, uses 4 other bolts to hold the crossmember on the fron tof the frame, and they are all 1/2" bolts. 2 go in from the front down through the lower crossmemberfrom the inside using very heavy washers, nuts on the outside. The other 2 bolts go through the upper ends of the frame rails, THROUGH. They are drilled through frame rails and the crossmember has holes on both sides of the frame so the bolt goes all the way through 4 layers of steel on 2 frame rails!
Then there's the Calmini bumper. It is a very heavy bumper, that is honestly heavier than the ARB, but I think that part is debatable. But the mounting? SUCKS! It only mounts using the 4-8mm bolts that hold the factory beer can on. How is that strong enough for a side pull from a winch?
Calmini, what were you thinking? You made a beautiful, somewhat affordable, stout front bumper made in the states, that mounts like a$$! What's up with that? Why no extra mounting to help with the strength? Not like it would be a big deal to factor into the design.
That's my input, and gripe. Hope that helps.

That was a big down side on the Calmini bumper, So I welded mine and its now one with the Tracker ;D
Beside that one thing, I like Calminis for its compactness.

2- factory bolts and 4- 1/2" :o. Jesus, seems like over kill to me for draging a 3000# truck around. You could pick up a tank with a mount like that :o
Did you have trouble with the Calmini mount? Or just not like how they did it? I watched a guy winching with one that was installed with no welding or additional mounting and it did not move at all. It was pulling a built Sami out of some deep thick mud at about a 45 degree angle. Seemed stout to me :-/

we have a ARB winch bar on our 4door Vit. It is awesome. I prefer the ARB bars follow the body line around the head lights and give protection against large shrubs.
Whoever i do really like the look of the Calmini Bar. It in my opinion is very stylish. However does not protect the head lights... and the are not fun to replace...
