more info needed. such as:
1. BUDGET!!
2. How mild/ wild do you want?
3. Resources, can you weld, bend and fab yourself?
Without that though...
Budget beater, most fun for the $$=
2" coil spacers, 2" body lift, fender trimming, lockrite rear or lincoln locker, 31s and a snorkel (hole in the fender, 6$ in abs pipe).
Unlimited:
Trail Tough Trail Slayer Kit, 2.0 swap, and of course the snorkel. ;D 5.29s arbs longs t-case gears 36" iroks, staun beadlocks, and a christmas present for me!

2 in coil spacers with four door coils and four door brakes. The brakes is a real sweet mod! ;D
2 in body lift but 3 is better. gives more space for tires and gas tank lift.
weld the rear end and your good to go with 31`s

The 2" coil spacer lift I make!! and a 2 or 3" body lift will fit you 31's.

Ya I should of included more info....
I am a pipe fitter by trade so welding and fabricating is not a problem...
Money wise... I would like to keep it as cost effictive as possible
The rig cannot go on the road so it would have to be trailered so the sky is the limit on how mild or wild I can go depending on the Misses of course..
Thanks for the info though if you have any ideas please shoot them my way
Thanks,
Mike

Sounds like you have a decent budget and can fab = Ahh very nice !
Question: what is your location?
I would do this:
Trail-tough Trail Slayer suspension.
Toyota Axles of course (85 front, 86 rear) & Correct Gearing and lockers.
Bilstein 7100 or Fox 2.0 Shocks
Engine swap: 2.0, 2.5, or 2.7 (Suzuki)
33" to 35" Tires
Then wheel it and see what else you need/want.
Why the above you may ask? I have been there done that... do it ONCE and be happy!

Fab some bumpers. The front looks so cool with all the plastic removed and a nice steel bumper that barely covers the tires. A roof rack is also handy. My 2" lift is also very nice. LOL ;)

|removethispart|@jeff... What kind of fab/roof rack do you have? Is it on tracker/sidekick/samurai?

I made a rack from .75 x .75 square tubing. It ran the whole length of the vehicle and was very strong. I mounted 4 lights on the front of it. Here is a picture of it from the front.
