I found a local Tracker, 94, for $1000. Haven't seen it, but my dad said it's in good condition, 140k miles, new soft top, stick, 4x4. I'm tempted to buy it but haven't given it much thought, plus I haven't seen it yet. There's a lot of Sidekicks, Trackers, and Samurais on local Craigslist, but nothing for this low (other than a rolled '90 for $800).
So give me a good reason why I need two. I'm thinking if I got it I could swap t-cases and get my t-case for my 90 to install gears in. And have an extra one fo play in. I have some nice rims and tires for it...and could install a spacer lift...
-
If you buy it then you can get one of my lift kits, thus making me $$. Just kidding. I cannot think of a great reason to have 2 other than 2 are better than 1.
-
1.well this way you can go crazy on one and get the great mpg of a stock one:) or go crazy on one and do a mild build on another:) like 29's on a spacer lift.
2. And if you break one you have another.
3. And If you friends car breaks you can loan him one
4. It will keep another small patch of your drive way clean
5. It acts as a small storage container when not in use.
6. It most likely won't go down in value more than it has so it's like a small savings.
7. You might be able to see it for more if you did a better add than he did.
8. why not.
So maybe not all good reasons but reasons none the less.
-
1.you could sell it again, if it is cheapper then all the others in CL.
2. parts car.
3. what everyone else said.
-
Because 3 would be a crowd.
-
Hahaha! Good ones guys. Thanks. I'll probably be looking at it early this week.

That's actually exactly what I was thinking. I still have the brand spankin' new 29" a/t's from my tracker sitting in my sideyard and I picked up 4 aluminum 15x7 rims for CHEAP ($50) on CL.
Or I could resell for higher
OR...sell to a buddy in need of a 4x4 (a lot of my buds want mine but they ain't gettin it!).
3 wouldn't be a crowd...I'd just need a bigger garage ;)

I think the real aswer is: Give me a reason not to have 2 Suzukis. Plus talk the guy down and you cant say no. -KB-

IF THE ENGINE IS SWEET, THEN I WOULD PULL THAT. SEND IT IN AND MODIFY THE PISS OUT OF IT. CAM,PORTED AND WHATEVER ELSE THESE MORE EXPERENCED GUYS WOULD RECOMEND.
IF YOU CAN GET A SAMMY CASE THEN MAYBE YOU CAN LOOK INTO DOING THE KICKER3 DOUBLE T-CASE THING. I WOULD!
YOU CAN SCREW WITH OTHER PARTS WITHOUT WORRY.
MAYBE CHANGE THE DIFF GEARS
SPARE PARTS THAT YOU WOULD WANT AND SELL THE REST
I WENT THIS ROUTE AND I'M GETTING MY MONEY BACK ON THE PARTS. WELL WORTH IT DUDE!
MY 2 CENTS

been there done that bought the t-shirt, sold the t-shirt and then bought it again......
I've had as much as 3 zukes on the road at the same time...got a 1985 SJ413K and a 1981 LJ80 on the road right now. I also thought of the drive one wheel one....it never happens....I will always wheel both. I'd buy another one if I'd find one...and have it on the road too....it's fun to have a choice. The only negative is all the funds you need to run the second are taken off the first....buy it, fix it up and then profit from it....this is what I tell myself every time.

You don't need any other reason than,
"I WANTED IT!!!"

Here is a good reason.

1. Zuks are like kids, what's one more going to hurt? (ask me, I have 3 zuks in the yard and my third kid is on the way)
2. Options, it's all about options.

Because 3 would be a crowd.
I disagree. I have had AT LEAST 3 Suzukis at all times, since 2002.

Well, oh well, when I pulled up I didn't even have to look at it before realizing it was 2wd. Looking inside and seeing no t-case lever confirmed it. SO, not this one!
But check out this samurai. I can't tell if it's a roof rack or a roll cage, either way, it looks weird.

And this Samurai on 33s...

They aren't too hard to convert over to 4wd.
Looks like the "rack" is made out of square tubing. Nothing a torch, cut off wheel, etc. won't cure. Looks nice otherwise.
The TT looks pretty nice too.

to make one 4x4 it wont cost you much. I have found a couple of tranny's with tcase's for $100 and you can find a front dline and the complete ifs for $100 down to free. It would take only a little time to put it together.
-
Well on local CL there was also another one, the entire chassis...frame, axles, t-case, trans, everything there (but the engine, I think) for $500. And a rolled 1990 for $800. So, I COULD do it...but I'd rather invest that time and $$$ in the good one I got already :)
Cause there's always gonna be other ones out there for relatively cheap compared to what I paid for mine. A 93 just popped up on CL today for 1200.

Sounds like you just "WANT" another Zuki. So why ank why? >:D

But of course >:D I guess I'm looking for better reasons than to just say "BECAUSE" when someone asks me "why do you have two of those..."
