Title: Still Smoking
Post by: bingen on December 17, 2009, 08:47:55 PM
I have an 84 Samurai (called beaver here in the Philippines) and has a 1.0 liter motor.  It smokes, so I had the motor overhauled.  Top and bottom, came back smoking.  Especially when warmed up.  So sent it back, thought it was a valve seal let go...came back still smoking.
Had a leak test done, top and bottom...came back negative....still smoking.
Changed the head....came back still smoking.
changed the block, still smoking....
Smokes when accelerating now, when warm.  Rev the motor cold, no smoke.  Idling no smoke...
Am going crazy, please someone help!

Sorry could not help myself... being from the Philippines you probably do not get the joke but others will..

Also, no idea on the motor issues,

Zig

Is there some way that you have an oil pathway through the carburator? Intake gasket problem, hoses routed incorrectly?

Good luck, Eric

Along those same lines, I'm not sure of the fuel situation in the Philippines, but is there any chance of oil in the gas itself?  What octane do you run?

Am running 90+ octane...am going to check if i have a bypass that's low and close to oil source today.
I do think sometimes am 'smokin the stuff' when am trying to fix this thing, cuz i seem not to find the problem...hahahaha

I know when I figure it out, it's going to be something so obvious
