Anybody placed a 32" tire on the stock spare tire mount for a sammy? Just curious as to if the back door can actually hold the weight or not?
-
It can for a while, but will eventually tear through the door. If you brace it up the hinges will start to have problems. The recommended path is to either brace both the hinges and the spare tire mount or look at a bumper mounted tire carrier. I just tossed my spare time in the back, I don't run a rear seat anyway.

i think im gonna get a roof rack and throw it up there

That will be pretty cool looking. Be sure to post pictures!

I had a 33x12.5 BFG on my old tintop. Worked great.

If they worked so great, why is the truck upside down???

you'll be makin your zuke a little top heavy with a 32 on the roof but it's safer than bolting it to the back door. we try to mount it on the back bumper on a swing away. We even built a swing down and it turned into a table and rack for the BBQ. I'll try to find some pics.

I never put spares on roofs for obvious reasons.

Because when you roll it it will push the roof it? :D
Does the Tin Top use the same hinges as the standard SJ? Or does it have them further up the door, if so that might give it more strength for running the larger tires on the back.
