Title: Weird Noise.....

My 1986 Suzuki Samurai makes a weird knocking sound from 1-3 gear when I accelerate. It sounds like it is coming from the dashboard. I don't think it is coming from the engine because it was rebuilt a couple months ago by a shop. what is this noise?

Loose, broken or misaligned engine , trans or tcase mounts? Could be anything. Driveshafts out of sync?

ya that could be the problem. when i look at the motor mounts, tranny mounts, and t case mounts they all look pretty destroyed. i didn't think of that thanks

If the mounts are torn or messed up I'd start by replacing 'em.
