No harder than taking it out of any other sidekick/tracker. The tranny and tcase comes out as a unit. The sport does have a hydro clutch, so you have to unbolt the hydro stuff, but it isn't really too difficult.
The steps needed are.....
take out tranny and tcase shifters,
disconnect electrical wires that go to the tranny and tcase,
remove starter,
remove the 2 bolts at the top of the tranny and the 2 nuts on the studs at the sides of the tranny that hold tranny to engine,
remove rear driveshaft
drain tcase,
remove front driveshaft,
remove tranny/tcase crossmember (support tranny and tcase before removing),
remove hydro clutch stuff,
remove speedo cable from tcase,
slide tranny and tcase rearward and drop it out (I use a jack to support everything and drop them out....the tranny and tcase combo is a pretty heavy unit and I can't drop them out using the "bench press" method).
I think that is everything needed to remove the tranny

sound about right, but there are a couple more smaller bolts around the bell housing

Yep, you're right. There are the 2 small bolts that hold the flywheel cover/shield on. And there are probably braces that run between the motor mounts and the tranny bellhousing that will have to be taken loose too.

it should be easy depending on what kind of tools you got in your shop

In case your wondering, you can pull an engine while forgetting to remove the flywheel cover. It just doesn't like it. And you shake the engine a lot trying to figure out what is still connected.
Or so I have heard...
