i just found a set of sammy axles out in the hills. they seem like they are in ok shape. my question is, are they narrower than my sidekick axles? obviously the kick has ifs but i plan to do a sas. when i found the axles in the hills i had an idea.(the whole lightbulb thing) would it work?

Yes, the axles are 2" narrower over-all, or 1" on each side. You can fix this by installing some wheel spacers to even it out. I think there are a couple of people who have done the SJ front axle swap if you search around the board.

Also, remember the samurai axles will have 3.73 gears. Your trackick probably has either 4.62 or 5.12 gears. So you will be geared really high with 3.73s.

Ya. If do the swap I will put the kicker 3rd members in the Sammy axles

Uhh, no you won't. The front one will fit, but the rear one won't.

I think he is looking at just swapping the front axle in. If you are doing front and rear you will probably want to slip a Sammy T-Case in as well in order to get the rear axle off-set done correctly.

Could be, but I didn't read it that way...since he said...

So I took it as he was swapping both in.

Sorry I meant axle. The rear would be a hassle and its not worth it. The sidekick rear is a stronger axle any way.
