Todays project was originally to build a box for my speakers. Of course, I got bored with that pretty quickly, and noticed the alluring sawzall just sitting there, so I took pity on it, having not tasted metal in a while, and this is what I ended up with:

Next: Sealing everything back up with the home fabricator's favorite material choice: Plywood ;D

All in all, it's been a very busy night, and this project has only begun. When I get a chance to run into town, I'm going to pick up a gallon of bedliner... won't even be able to tell it's been ghetto-rigged all to hell :P ;D

Oh yah... more pics here: http://www.eye-irritant.com/thegallery/index.php?album=Tracker+Shiz%2Ftopless&sortby=name&order=asc

OMG DUDE What have you :-X. Now make a truck out of it 8)
-
take the old hatch cut it down to make a talgate!!!! either that or weld it up or screw it in .then seal it all up hindge that top ply wood .. you'll get some weather tight storage!!!
-
You could go to a boneyard and get a tailgate assy from a conv. and a duster tonneau and your set, sweet man!
-
dude, your a crazy basturd. I LOVE IT. make me wana cut the top of mine off.
oh wait i already have a convo. ;D ::) ;D

and dude you have a parts tracker thats a convo, why not use the tailgate off it???

That's what I'm doing when the rain lets up tonight ;). That plywood tailgate was a temporary thing for today to keep all my shiz in the back of the truck from falling out.
I also have a rollbar/spare tire rack deal planned out in my head... the spare tire will mount at a 45* angle on the downpipe thingers on the rollcage, and flip out to reveal a small cargo space (for a small cooler or something).
And the storage area will be water tight when I'm through. ;D
Speedracer: I absolutely hate hardtops, yet I own two. I would've much rather had a convertable, but the deals I found on the two I have were much better than I could find for convo's of the same years :-/

Pretty drastic, but I like it! ;D I can't wait to see the next stage!

Looking good. You can try this for a spare tire rack. I accidently bought a JP mag. Honest. I thought it was a Sport Ute mag.

Kielbassa baby ;D
Don't leave home with out it. ;D

Looks like a man with a plan. :D
did'nt You mention something about your rear bumper being turned into a air supply tank? Or am I thinking of someone else?
-
Nope, that was me :). I'm just too cheap to buy the air fittings/compressor needed to complete the project :(
I worked on it a bit more last night and got the softtop tailgate on with a bit of welding and hammering ;). I also took the frame and back portion of the softtop, and cut it up to make a safari top so I can leave the rear window out without getting too wet in the rain, but it looks like complete shit, so it's coming back off again.

I haven't had a chance to run to town to get some plexiglass or bedliner yet, so I haven't made much progress. I did, however, make a sub box finally ;)
-
love that rig explo!

I made a back window for it, finally. Unfortunately, the only plexiglass I could find around the house was some 20 year old shitty stuff that half the protective plastic wouldn't come off :) So I'll have to replace the plexi sometime in the future (most likely far... it's good enough for now :)).
Pics tomorrow... it was dark out when I finished, and the garage has poor lighting :(
-
Ooh! PICs! :o
mmm.... back window action
