Post by: mitch on July 16, 2004, 01:30:18 PM
i got an auto tranny for FREE from a friend at Zookimelt.  My Tracker has a manual in it.  What do I need to change to make the swap? I need the tranny,  torque converter and what else? Thanks for the help.

Well depending on the year, you might need
the computer, and you will need the flex plate
to bolt the torque convertor onto, I hear it's
a PITA to swap tranys like that, but time and
your work will tell.

HEHE!!! So what are you saying??? I talk to much?? :'(
As a matter of fact, it is a very big pain in the a$$! If the drivetrain was going into a sammy, it would be much easier. But in a trackick, it involves a ton of work.

Lately I am finding that even the starter is different on a manual than an automatic.

Yup, the auto starter is about 2" longer motor than the manual starter.
