So I changed my water pump and timing belt and so far everything seems to be working out well...thanks to everyone for there input on the last thread...Now while I was in there I noticed how heavy the stupid pulleys were on this engine (crankshaft, waterpump) and was thinking if anyone made a set of light weight pulleys out of billet aluminum or something. there has to be some power loss in trying to move those heavy things and could only imagine it being worse if there were more accessories such as ac and power steering which mine doesnt have...anyway just me rambling on thinking of how to get more power from these little engines...

dont know about the alt and waterpump pulleys but suzuki rd makes a single and double crank pulley thats smaller and is aluminum. there close to 100 bucks though.

The crankshaft pulley is heavy for a reason, its designed to damp out secondary (maybe higher order) vibrations on the crankshaft, this is why its often referred to as the harmonic balancer. You can get lighter crankshaft pulleys, these are normally underdrive pulleys which rotate the accessories slower. You can gain a few bhp but the trade off is reduced engine life and less effective charging at lower rpm.
