I have a 1987 samurai that won't start. It has not been started in a year. Before that time it started and ran OK. The battery has been checked OK. The dash lights and headlights come on. When I turn the ignition switch to start nothing happens. The starter relay does not even click. jumping the starter it turns on. Push the sam and it starts and runs. Checking for the clutch switch....can't find it. (I can see it on my other samurai). Any ideas? Thank you
Is there a way to jumper out the clutch switch? where can I find the wiring to do that? Looking under the dash I see a nightmare of cobbled wires obviously "modified" by previous owners but no clutch switch. I was hoping to find the wires on the firewall. Why it worked before is beyond me.

Did you look or check for rodent damage? common problem around here if you
leave a car sitting rats will get into the engine area and chew wires and stuff.

Nice! Did you replace the switch or bypass it?
