Hey everyone, i just got a 2000 Grand Vitara V6 5 door and i'm wondering where i can get a big lift kit (3-6 inches)?
My heater and AC dont really work and i'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem?
1. The buttons that control my vents dont control the right vents and my floor vents dont work at all.
2. My AC doesnt work at all.
3. I cant control the temperature.
4. during the summer theres a little bit of heat that goes through the vents all the time.
I'm wondering if anyone has replaced this and knows how much it was and also where to get parts. I thought about getting parts from a Chevy tracker but i'm not sure if they are the same vehicle. (they look the same). Please help. thanks.

I can help with 2" of the lift. To get a full 3-5" you will probably need to go with a suspension and body lift combo. I make 2" coil/ strut spacers lifts that will give you 2" of suspension.
The heater/AC problem may just be a fuse. Check that first. My 97 blew one and it did not work right. Also check all vacuum lines that control the vents.

As for the A/C not being cold, check the condensate line that runs along the crossmember right in front of, and at the bottom of, the radiator. The 99-01 GV's had a problem with the rubber line clamps causing corrosion, leaking all the gas, and the A/C would stop working. The problem was so bad with the first few years that they re-designed the clamps with a different rubber to prevent this. If the system has no charge, its a good chance this is the cause.
As for the controls, I dunno. It is 10 years old and might have broken.

My '01 vitara never has heat on the floors. Last week i finally discovered why... they carpeted right over the vents!!! Propblem was solved with a utility knife...much better now.
2+2" combo is common because more than 2" susp. or 2" body lift creates additional headaches..

For the problem of not being able to control the temp - if yours is the same as my '01 tracker then look under the passenger side of the dash by the transmission tunnel. As you move the temp control lever with your hand keep looking under there to see if the cable is actually hooked up to the arm and moving the control lever. Mine has fallen off a few times.
