Zukiworld to display a vehicle at the Chicago Auto Show
Albany, OR (February 2, 2010) - As part of American Suzuki Motor Corporation's Chicago Press Conference, Zukiworld will be displaying an unrestored and original LJ20 to demonstrate Suzuki's 40 years of 4x4 excellence. The LJ20, powered by a 359cc water cooled 2-cylinder two-stroke engine delivers 28hp, has a 125.8 in wheelbase, weighs approximately 1350lbs, and has a top speed of 50mph was Suzuki's second model of capable 4x4 introduced in 1972 following the LJ10. This LJ20 will be available for viewing during the media preview February 10th and 11th of the Chicago Auto Show.
In the Chicago show, Suzuki highlights the all-new Kizashi (in both production and Road Race Motorsports form), along with an ICON-modified Equator. Kizashi went on sale in December, and is well supported in the Chicago area by a host of area Suzuki franchises.

That was by my choice. There is a small, tasteful decal on the front bumper.

I was there today. I sat in the Kazashi. Not a bad car. The backseat legroom was okay but not huge. I was disappointed that the LJ wasn't on display. I knew that it was only there for the opening though.

What is the story behind this little LJ, 1972 unrestored and appears to be in great shape ?????

I bought it from a collector last summer and hadn't done anything to it 'till Suzuki called me. Then, it was a mad dash to "buff it out" and get some upholstery done. It's complete, stock, unmolested, no rust, and ironically the original owners who bought it way back in the day actually live within 50 miles of where I'm at so it's kind of come home...
btw: it's for sale :)

Out of curiosity how much?

LJ spotting.... Our little fella has been spotted in 4Wheel & Offroad's latest... Props to Bagwell for finding it.

Invite them to the race, give them a chance to drive it there as an official pace vehicle. :D

Uh.... Is that a C6 I spy resting in the upper berth? I find that being a Vette / Zuki owner is a nice combo..... Hence the name Tuxblacray.... (Tuxedo Black Stingray)
Save The Wave........

The thing about that article is it says zukiworld in the caption. Too cool.

Another spotting of our lil' fella, thanks again to Bagwell for scanning it in... This time in Four Wheeler Magazine.
Maybe it's time for a LJ project vehicle?

If you build one, make sure it isn't in such good condition. :D
Someone has a 1.0L 3 cyl dropped in an SJ, that would be a fun project. Try and make a fun light wheeler that gets over 30 to the gallon.

There was 2 LJ's that were just sold on Ebay a few weeks ago that I totally missed. Barn finds in Iowa, almost in my back yard! Did anybody buy them belong on this board?
