So I'm driving in the rain with the wipers going, and my wipers stop moving and I hear , thump thump thump.
I'm guessing that the transfer bar has come off the wiper motor arm, so here's where I'd like some advice.
Whats the best way to get at the wiper setup?
I'm thinking about pulling the windshield off, but before I do this I wanted to see if anyone had a better way of doing it. Mostly because it's still raining and I don't want to get soaked while fixing this... I know it's probably gonna happen anyway, I just prefer to avoid winter rain as much as possible. :-\
Lastly, any suggestions for keeping it from happening again? I'm thinking Blue Lok-tite...
Thanks

Is this a Sammy or a Tracker?
If it is a Sammy and a soft top just remove the top rails and the plates on the back that is stopping it from folding forward. Or just buy a fold-down kit.

It's a Sammy, and I pulled the windshield. The little clip thing that holds the primary drive bar to the secondary transfer bar at the pivot point in the middle of the windshield has vanished, causing them to uncouple. I grabbed a spare spring clip I had, bent it into a shape that would hold and it is working thus far. That said, it's kind of a field expedient repair, so I'd like to know what kind of clip was originally on there so I can replace it properly. The old one is no-where to be found.
I need to get the the hinge set for this thing :P
