Dose any body know if any other seats will fit in a 88 Suzuki. I know some seats you can swap over the brackets on the bottom. dose any body else not like the stock seats as much as I do? I looked at the "aftermarket seats" but they tend to be to spendy right now. Thanks

I'm guessing you have a Sami? I have an 89' SideKick JLX
which had cloth seats, and I must say they are some of
the best seats I have sat in, can't say about others so give
that a shot first, and yes, the mounts are different on SideKicks
than a Samurai
-
OK, and yes I have a Sammy. I guess it's a trip to the scrap yard and just find something that is close. if any body has any input I'm, all ears. I really appreciate having you guys to ask.

if at first it fitteth not, thou shalt add more duct tape.

I have no idea if they fit but seats from a Wrangler TJ are some of the most comfortable I've ever sat on. Even the early ones.

Replacement seats are a frequent and popular discussion topic. If you search the boards, you will find more discussion, opinion and comments than you'll get in the relies to one post. I've observed that many folks report that Neon seats are popular and are easy-to-fit. [But I had mine rebuilt by the local upholstery shop.]

a search at Ack's FAQ (see signature for link) for seats revealed links to eight seat replacement articles.

Neon seats; from a 4dr so they fold forward (you can also mod the 2dr to do same)
cavalier --minimum adaptation; super comfy
prelude; also popular swap

um. oppsite on the neon seats. 4dr ones dont fold forward without modification. 2dr seats fold forward though. (4dr seats have no need to fold forward in factory trim) 1995-1999 neon's have the 2dr seats, they also have 4dr. 2000-2005 neon/sx2.0/srt4 only came in 4dr so all seats would have to be modded to fold forward.

Good news I found a local upholstery shop (this guys garage) he said $150 to recover both.... SCORE
-
thats an extremely good deal, but does he have any work on hand for you to approve of, and make sure its decent quality? I'm spending roughly 300 to re-upholster my sami seats, minues the Head rest, and thats just in materials cost! I'll post some pics later tomorrow night when my back seat gets finished!
-
Cool.... I talked to him and he will be using some remnant material he has on hand. the price basically covers his time.
-
this is my new back seat, I pretty much did it myself with a little bit of help from the upholstery lady down the block! :)

Have a look at Honda CRX/Del Sol/Prelude seats as some of them are pretty close in the mounting pattern depending upon year and model. Just measure your mounting pattern and compare it.

Neon seats, hands down, IMO. I have the ones from the Plymouth Neons (2000 and newer, I believe), and they have more padding and are nicer looking seats than the older ones. The samurai seat rails bolt right on to the front of the neon seats, for the seat rail attachment on the rear, you can use self tapping screws/bolts to secure them (or you can use bolts and nuts, your choice).

I'll second this one. I got two Jeep seats from a local "you pull the part" junk yard. They were mint condition. $30 each. I had to make some flat iron rails to adapt them to the Sammi rails, but they are so comfy. I'm short so the slight increase in height was not an issue, but might be for some of you tall off roaders. Now to find something for the back seat.

Found a Samurai for sale on Criagslist that was using powered seats out of a Porsche Boxter. Those are probably rather comfy.

Cool, Right now I'm sporting some original Sammy seats with the custom hefty bag seat covers. Clean up is a snap
