I have a 3 speed auto, should I put a tranny cooler on it for wheeling? I already have the cooler. I was just wondering if it could make the tranny temp. too low and cause the transmission to act funny? Also I can get a P.S. cooler off of an Explorer should I put that on too? Would there be any problems with installing this? I also took my A/C off to install bracking for a front bumper. Should I re install the condenser fan on the front of the rad. and put it on a switch to help cool? I can't see this hurting anything but maybe someone has had expirence with this

The trans cooler is a good idea. I've been running one on my auto for a couple years. It does take the trans a bit longer to warm up in the morning, but doesn't hurt anything. As far as the power steering cooler, I don't think it's necessary, unless your running 34/35" tires. If you don't have your AC hooked up, and don't plan on running it, no need for the fan. Engine fan is enough.

in my book, a transmission cooler is ALWAYS a good idea. a little work now to add it, is a lot better than a lot of work later to rebuild a transmission after it toasts everything when it overheats.

Put the trans cooler on and push the fluid through it first, then go
through the radiator, this gets the most heat out of the fluid but still
keeps it warm going through the radiator if it's super cold out.
If you go through the radiator first and then the cooler, it will sometimes
overheat the engine if you are working the trans hard, like towing on a
large vehicle, I don't think the Track/Kicks ever work that hard but just
for the best engine cooling, cooler first, then radiator

Thanks Wild. I was originally going to just block of the rad. and only use the external cooler. I undertsand what you're saying but it seems kinds weird to cool it down then heat it back up.

I ended up putting in a rad out of a manual after a branch took the original out of my auto. The manual trans rad has no provision for trans cooling, and effectively gives you 3 more rows of cooling fins to keep your engine cooler. works great on the auto. The larger aftermarket trans cooler will do the job fine, and add some saftey and peace of mind as well.

IMO, a tranny cooler and a PS cooler would be good ideas. I run an Explorer cooler on my trackick PS that I run on my samurai.
