Is this the same as missing links shackles?

No, they are basically lift shackles, but the boomerang shape means they are less likely to allow your springs to wrap around backwards when you run into a rock or something similar.

How much lift are you looking to add?  What do you currently have under the rig, or is the Sammy stock?

My Sammy:  88 with 33's spring over, rear springs up front, have 5inch long shackles in rear maybe lifted springs in rear not sure how much. just need to bring it up about a inch to level it out. Would just swap over to wrangler springs in rear but cant seem to find good springs.

Adding an extra leaf to the rear would probably even things out.  Just through another one of the 3/4 length springs on.  You probably don't want to put a longer shackle on it then you currently have.

Longer shackles increase the leverage caused by sideways forces on your suspension.   This leads to the destruction of the spring bushings and a 'loosey-goosey' suspension with unstable handling on the road.

This is from a non-trailer queen point of view... Your POV may be different!
