Title: What happened to my gas mileage?
Post by: smife on February 20, 2010, 10:28:37 AM
I was getting around 22mpg. I took the "snorkel" (the stock piece thru the fender) off the air box and started getting about 18mpg. I put that "snorkel" piece back on and my Tracker still gets 18mpg. Now I raised the gas tank 3 inches, the tank is tilted slightly to the back, but not much at all. I installed a new fuel filter, now I'm getting 15mpg!?!?!?!

It might take a few days for the system a few days to get used to the change.

Thats what I was hoping for!  I've gone about 1000 miles since the air box thing and 300 miles since the gas tank lift

unhook the batt overnight and and then try again in the morning. Anytime we do anything that might change the way the motor breaths it should be reset. My 92 samurai hated change and if I didn't do this it would run like crap.
