Title: what motor is it

How can i tell what year or make or model a motor is,  guy has a 1.6l 8v for sale and i cant tell if what he says is true lol help please

Look at the engine number - a Suzuki 1.6 from a kick or similar will be a G series engine - and the engine number will start with G16 - something like this G16?-123456.

Pay attention to that question mark because it will be a letter that supposedly tells you the year the engine was made in - see here (http://www.kick-fix.com/specs/Body-TAGS/IDentification.html) for more details.

ok it has G16a and g16p124093 and 1590cm3. I went to that link but honestly did know what to look at but I'm on my phone ill check it out when I go in the house thanks a lot for the help
