Title: 8V motor swap into 92 samurai
Post by: blaster716 on February 28, 2010, 06:06:49 PM
I`ve been reading about theese tracker / sidekick moptor swaps for samurais , and I understand that if I use the 8 v motor that my intake and exhaust header will bolt on , my question is  , My samurai is fuel injected  , will my intake and injection from my 1.3 all work with the 1.6 or will i have to modify something ?

It works pretty well. I am doing the same thing for 5 years now and it is still running strong. I am also running the Icky2 cam.

I bet you just need to swap the TBI or the injector if it fits, other than that
if all those parts are the same you might need to swap the computer for the
proper fuel metering.

There aren't many FI Samurai's out there, so this might take some more
work than a normal swap

If you swap over to the 1.6L 8valve you just need to swap your intake and exhaust to the new engine, no extra wiring is really needed.  You will still need the adaptor plate for the transmission though or go for a Shogun or Kicker 3 setup.
