Title: evap p0440
Post by: Silver Penny on March 07, 2010, 08:58:40 PM
Hi all,

My 99 2.5 Grand just came up with the service engine soon for the first time in our relationship.206k, I've had the truck now for three years ran her on 94 octane and always maintained it myself.  Always passed with flying colors. The code is p0440 evap and has to do with the tank vent system. I've installed new cap, that did nothing , then I checked all the solenoid valves and they all work.
Started to check the hoses and found some that were not baked on and you could actually twist(possible leak?) . I secured them nice and tight.Reset the light and I'm hoping for the best.
I have emissions test coming up soon and I know it won't pass with this code so I'm really in need of some helpfull advice or it may be a very  :(  birthday  :(

Well ,

In the previous post I mentioned a few things, which is part of "good old fashion trouble shooting".

If I told you, how would one or others learn the fine discipline that's been forgoten?
 ;)

Happy Birthday to me! :)
