Hey Eric, what's this "Technical Prestige" thing about under our names? I know I'm no genius, but "0" ?

The idea is that whenever someone helps you out, you can give them an Applaud to raise their Technical Prestige. It's brownie points for helping people out and also tells others that your info is good and it's helpful. We're running on the "sunny side of life" so there will be no smite or negative button. [make sure you want to applaud, there's no take backs] There was a negative for about a day during setup and if you were unfortunate enough get a negative, sorry (I can't reset)... I guess you'll have to work a little bit harder to move up! :)

To encourage use I am working on a program to award gift certificates to members who get a certain number of points to be used in our store for merch... More on that to come.

Thanks for asking! -Eric

Sounds like a good system, only one small flaw I can see, You can end up with the same # of " applause "  if you have 2000 posts or 20. too bad it's not retro active. The older I get the less likely I am to think straight,   "yeah, I do believe that loud knocking coming from your lower end is nothing to worry about, just jam some banana peels into your oil filler port and you'll be good to go!"
Oh, and thanks Drone and Eric, coming from you guys that's really uh......... just ok.  I kid, I kid, I'd wreck either of your rigs anyday!

Now I have to go practice my technical prowess, and open a can of soop. ;)

essentially this is a form of a rep system,    I"ve seen it used a few times previously on other forums,  every time, within a year its gone again because people got into "rep wars" to see who could get the most rep.    being there is no negative option though to choose frm, it may be alright.

I think so... I've got a 24 hour delay so you can't just hit the button like a feeder bar.

We'll see if this works. I'm just trying to reward those who really help people out because I think that's cool... that's all.

:)
