Get a v-belt pulley for the pump???

Okay, that was out of line - sorry.

I found what looks to be a 95 4-door Tracker (or at least one earlier than 1996 because of the dash - yet fairly new because it had a steering wheel airbag) with a v-belt pulley in a secret location, so I know that they exist.

You could have a serpentine accessory pulley redrilled for the 4-bolt 1.3 crankshaft - or keep looking.

& no, I ain't tellin' you where that pump is! It's MINE

MINE, I SAY!!!!!

spider trac makes the v belt on for the motor pulley with the serpintine on the outside for the pump.  125 bucks for the box and pump and resv.with hoses  didn't think that was to bad.

Maybe that is some sort of aftermarket PS, because trackicks never had vbelts (other than the few 89s that had the 1.3 engine).
Also, 96 was the first year for airbags in trackicks.  So maybe it's possible that someone swapped a later steering wheel in an earlier trackick.
Or maybe that is just one cobbled up/bastardized trackick......either way, we need pics!!!

yzf.....that pump and box will work.  There are a few options for pulleys/belts.....
1) find an early 2 piece trackick crank pulley and use the front pulley in front of the samurai pulley to drive the PS pump.  The trackick pulley will have to be redrilled....not a big deal.
2) use the complete trackick crank pulley (redrill it for the samurai crank bolt pattern).  Use the matching water pump pulley and a trackick alternator (both swap right onto a samurai).
3) get the combo crank pulley (vbelt/ribbed belt) pulley from a vendor.
4) find a vbelt pulley for the PS pump (I would recommend one of the other options).  You also have to have, or find, the double vbelt crank pulley for a samurai (it is the crank pulley for a samurai that had AC).

Unless you buy the kit that has the wedge that goes between the steering box and frame (to align the steering box parallel with the frame), you will have to use a ujoint in the lower part of the steering shaft.

ok will have to look at that. I m fab ing my own kit.  so that will be easy to do.  but it looks like the box bolts on flat against the frame and will line up correctly. am I missing something that I need to change on my mounting adaptor> all the pics I looked at were just a flat plate with countersunk bolts ,

ok  took anouther look   see what your talking about.  added a little more fabbing  but no prob. looks like almost a 3/4 to 1 inch of wedge in the plate needed.  do I need to put my samurai pitman arm on or can I use the sidekick one? anyone know what is the best way
thanks

You have to use the trackick pitman arm.  The samurai one won't fit the trackick box.
