hey guys ive heard of people puting rino linering in there sidekick im planing on doing it soon so could i seee some pictures of it thank you :)
-
maybe do a search, i think there have been a few threads about this.
-
I am thinking of taking out all the seats and carpet and Rhinolining mine. Afterwards, the backseat would be left out. I have heard there are drain holes in the cab, is that true?
-
yes there are drain holes im nto sure how many there are but thewre r 2 for sure in the back and i think theres more in the middle and front etc.
-
when you pull up the carpet you will see the rubber stops for the drains....
-
there should be 6 drain holes in the floor pan, two in front of the front seats, two behind the front seats and 2 under the back seats.
6 unless you find rust, and then its all cutom from there on.
taking the carpet out was the 1st thing i did the second day i got my vit. also, if you plan on hosing the floor out once in a while, maybe hose it out before the rhino liner, and see where the water pools up. if your happy with it, or if you have a water/aqua vac, then its all good. sometimes i have a hard time getting rid of all the water, as the floor does not always run towards the drain holes.
probably the easiest way to hose out the floor, is to have either front wheels on ramps, or the rear wheels on ramps. this way, you will have ALL the water at the front or at the back of the floor. aqua vac saves a lot of stuffing around.

Is lining the floor a great way to soundproof the cab?

We used Hurculiner, took 2 quarts cost was around $70.00 you will pay a LOT more for any spray on material but the spray on will look nicer. I have heard Hurculiner is one of the better ones as long as you want black.

I used Herculiner as well...all over the outside ;D I rolled 3 coats onto the body of my Track/Kick. Took me about 1.5-1.75 Gallons. Caught the kits on sale at Northern Tool for $50/Gal. ;D Went on rather well, just a lot of prep work. Make sure you rough it up really well. I would use 80 grit sandpaper. They include scotch brite, but that isn't rough enough IMHO. So far it's holding up well. After about 6 months it flattened out and isn't shiny like it used to be but that's the way I wanted it anyway. You can buy the UV Topcoat to restore it's shine also. Herculiner can also be sprayed if you have the facility to do it. Just need an air compressor and an undercoating gun (cheap) and a place you can make a mess...LOL. Spraying makes it a lot more even, but I didn't have anywehre to do it. And Line X estimated at least $1500-2000 for teh whole truck. No thanks!
