Title: lubrication points, where are they on my samurai?
Post by: Bobthebiker on March 27, 2010, 06:59:52 PM
on my 87 samurai,  I'm looking at it, as I'm doing the remaining general "sleeping vehicle wakes up"  service,  and I'm used to greasing stuff like the steering joints and stuff like that on vehicles when I'm doing maintenance on them.

On the sammy, I dont see any obvious grease points that have fittings.   are there any? and where?   I really dont like letting these things go if I can avoid it.

Are you looking for zerk fittings?  As far as I know there aren't any - not on a stock Sammi - if you have after market UJs, those might have, but ball joints, etc., are "lubed for life".

Thanks, thats pretty much what I figured when I didnt see any obvious ones. though I WOULD like to have zerk fittings on stuff lke tie rod ends, and such just to extend the lifespan.

the only thing you can grease is the drive shafts and some u-joints
