1993 4Dr Sidekick JLX 16v w/ AUTO. Will this transfer case go directly into my 1990 Geo Tracker 2dr with a 5spd?
I'm concerned about output shaft spline count. Since it's a 4dr in this case I wouldn't be able to swap drivelines, so if they didn't match I would have to have one custom-made.
The guy is selling it all or parts. I might be able to buy the whole thing for cheap and swap cases and hopefully get the 93 running to be able to sell it or toy around with it with a small lift, etc. or keep for parts.

They should match up spline wise. If for some reason they don't you can take the slip yoke from the 93 and use it to replace the one on your current rig. So if your in doudt, grab the slip yoke with the t-case.

What about auto vs. manual trans? I'm pretty sure that won't affect the transfer case but just checking?

nope the auto and stick trannys are the same as far as the out put splines. i dont think they changed untill 98.

I second that. The only difference is the Auto tranny is longer, which you don't need to worry about unless you want to swap that in also.

Nah. I guess for rock crawling people enjoy the autos better. But I got my Tracker as a rough-and-tumble fun toy. Love driving the manual as opposed to driving my big, comfortable, fullsize chevy that has an auto. I'd take the manual anyday (but, then again, I also don't have a massive commute each day too)

As said, the tcases are the same between auto (both 3 and 4 speed) and manual trannys.
The output shaft spline count on the tcase changed in 96.
