Hello!
I have a 1.6L 3 door grand vitara in my garage and I'm planing to modify it. But I need some advice from experienced people. I have ordered a OME 2'' lift kit and I'm also planing to instal 205/80 r16 tyres.
Should I do something with the gearbox too (cause of the tyre size)?
Or will the car run just fine with those?

a 205/80/16 isnt a size I see existant anywhere offhand. but I"d imagine you might be ok without modifying any of your driveline to run them.

Cause someone told me that the 1.6L would be to weak... But there is only 1,6 inch of difference between 195/80 R15 and 205/80 R16.... in radius... :-\ But I saw a few GVs with this tire dimension but I didn't understood the text under the pictures cause it was spanish or something.... :)

Depends what you define as too weak. I've seen a 1.6L Sidekick with 31's successfully tow about 250% of the rated towing capacity on an 8 hour drive through the mountains. You just have to say goodbye to 5Th gear, except for special occasions (IE. Tailwind or big downhill :D)

There isn't a lot you can do with the gearbox, the aftermarket gears don't reduces the high range so they make no difference on the road. You will lose some performance but it should be quite usable.

So I should give the car more power or else I lose the 5th gear? (airfilter, exhaust, chip tuning....) ???
