i got a samurai with a stock 1.3 motor in it. i was going wheelin one day and my motor just died on me when i was goin threw a hole. its not getting any spark. i checked the resistance on my coil and my distributer and ther both fine. i replaced the computer and that isnt the problem. im getting power to everything but im not getting any spark out of my coil. i tore apart my wireing harness to see if i can fined any bad wires and there wasnt any. im compleatly stumped on this one.

only thing I can think of that makes ANY sense is the coil on your firewall is DOA. is it original or aftermarket?
-
i just got a new coil for it
-
the coil tyhat was in it before was a msd 2 and that has a bad resistance reading so i replaced it . i have tryed 5 different coils. all good and all give me no spark
-
i even tryed hookin my batery right to my coil for a deffinate ground. im getting 12volts to the coil but when i crank it over it drops to 10volts. idk if that helps at all
-
This may sound silly to ask but did you check your coil wire? it's easy to over look
when you get frustrated >:(

yes i checked my coil wires. i have power getting to my coil and distributer. i am not getting any spark at all. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
You need to replace the ignitor in the distributor,
probably easier to just get a used distributor for it

i got an new used distibuter for it already. i checked the resistance in it and it meet requierments in my samurai book. i will re test it. if its good then what else could be the problems????
-
thats most of your problem, you're buying USED parts. buy BRAND NEW and it will probably work. used ignition parts is pretty much a gamble, it may work, it may not. you just dont know. resistance tests even dont make much of a difference to me.
-
i priced a new ditributer out and its 400. i know i should buy new parts and its a gamble but 400 for a part that might not be the problem is a gamble to. its fustrating

im not getting any spark out of the coil. i have power to my coil but no spark. i think my distributer is fine. i cant know its my distributer because if i dont get any spark out of the coil how will i know the distibuter is bad or good? i have to get power out of my coil first to get power to my distibuter. why am i not getting any power out of my coil if my coil is good and i got power going to my coil???????

check your primary/secondary wires going TO the coil on the vehicle harness. I'm betting you're missing something REDICULOUSLY simple. might even just be a fuse in the panel under the dash.
