Title: Trackers, cheap-as-free
Post by: LawDog on July 12, 2004, 09:42:13 AM
Just thought I'd throw it out there.  GM is giving away Trackers right now.  $5000 rebate for those of you contemplating a new ride ;D.  Check it out.

Sorry guys but even with a $5000 rebate I would not buy a new vehicle. You get taged with the initial depreciation as soon as you drive off the lot, then as soon as the 2005 is released, you have a vehicle that you have owned less than a year, but your "new 2003" is considered 2 years old on any resale standards.

For example 2004 XL-7 LX Loaded KBB retail is $24,399
A Used 2002 XL-7 LX Loaded KBB Private Party Sale is $15940 that is excellent condition and only 10000 miles.

So even with a $5000 rebate you just spent over $3000 to drive a new vehicle for less than a year.

Thanks, but I'll stick with buying used.

A common opinion pilot.  Hey, at least killer rebates will drive down the used zuk prices too :D

agreed explo, I'm a big fan of the cheapest capable rig money can buy.  But there's alot of guys here that like the new-style show n' shine rigs.  But, $100 IS cheap as free.  Make it hert with that thing.
