Title: cheap plastic?
Post by: mikes88 on April 06, 2010, 08:25:27 AM
Hi everyone, been lurking around a while getting info.  Anyway, the wife has a 2002 g.v., when we bought it used 2 yrs ago, 1 of the end caps on the roof rail was warped. Almost like someone hit it with a torch. Bought a new replacement for it, looked great. Now, 2 of the other caps have the same problem, plus the sparetire cover is bubbling on top ??? Anyone else have this problem?

The other question to be asked is where did the replacements come from?
Are they OEM Suzuki or some cheap replacement from an unknown manufacturer?
I've had no problems with the end caps on my '98 GV warping.

Thanks for the replies. We live near Chicago, so the climates do vary between winter and road construction . Seriously, I don't see where the climate could effect factory parts, unless it's a defect in manufacturing. The replacement pass. side front is o.e.m., as are the others, that are now starting to distort, and as I said in o.p., the factory sparetire cover is bubbling also. Just really confused, she really likes the truck, but if it's going to melt on us, I don't know what to do.
